Salem Counseling & Consulting
I'm Michelle Lefeavers, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and owner of Salem Counseling & Consulting. I consider myself a teacher as well as a therapist. I want to give you the tools you need in order to reduce your anxiety and depression. I believe that everyone faces obstacles; barriers that prevent us from reaching our goals and living our best life. Anxiety, trauma, depression, and internal struggles are unfortunately a part of the human condition. I have trained extensively in anxiety and insomnia. I work with those who hope to find some form of peace from anxiety, insomnia, OCD (including 'Pure O'), and phobias. In a world full of multi-tasking and trying to maneuver life, anxiety and insomnia can be overwhelming. I strive to provide an open, nonjudgmental, and warm environment for clients to grow. I'm interactive. Listening is a huge part of my job, but I'm also going to give you a lot of feedback during session. I want you to walk away with new information and a new perspective.
Services I Offer
At Salem Counseling & Consulting, we will work together to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior, otherwise known as cognitive restructuring. You will learn about reframing and other tools to help you cope with life’s obstacles. We can also explore past experiences that cause distorted thinking. Get in touch to book an appointment. I'm in network with many major insurance providers.
If you are working with a medical provider to taper off of a benzodiazepine, I can consult with both you and your medical provider about doing this in a safe way while teaching skills to handle anxiety and rebound anxiety caused by the medication. Your taper must be done by a medical doctor in order for me to consult, as a self taper is not safe.
If you are struggling with sleep, CBT-I is a research supported method of helping you finally get the sleep you so badly need. This can be done through HIPAA compliant online conference or is also offered in office. All you need for online sessions is a private place to talk, an internet connection capable of streaming, and a smart phone/computer/laptop/or tablet. So stop tossing and turning in bed, and start getting decent sleep once again.
Online therapy might be for you if: you don't live local to Winston-Salem but still reside in North Carolina or Florida and want help with sleep issues, have agoraphobia or intense anxiety that keeps you from leaving your home, or simply love the idea of the convenience of online therapy. All you need is internet strong enough to stream a movie, a private place to talk, and a way to access the internet via video such as a smart phone, tablet, or computer.
